A Fairtrade Town is any community in which people and organisations use their everyday choices to increase sales of Fairtrade products and bring about positive change for farmers and workers in developing countries.
Deal has recently been awarded status as a Fairtrade Town, following several years of hard work from the Fairtrade Working Group and the community. Information on some of the work they have accomplished is available at the following link: Fair Trade.doc
To recognise Fairtrade products when visiting Deal, look out for the Fairtrade mark on products such as tea, sugar, cotten, fruit, chocolate and honey.
