Community Contribution Grants

Community Contributions is a grant stream intended to provide ongoing financial support to local organisations which contribute in a significant way to the community of Deal.

This grant stream can be used towards core costs as well as project costs. The grant may be expended over two years.

Community Contributions - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS

1. Grants may be awarded up to £5,000, although most grants will be smaller than this.

2. The total Community Contributions fund available is £10,000.

3. A full application form must be supplied which clearly demonstrates the contribution the organisation makes to the community of Deal.

4. There will be one round in 2020-21. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday 4th September 2020

5. Applications will be considered by the Grants Sub-Committee. Members will score applications according to the score sheets in Appendix 3c.

1. ELIGIBILITY

These organisations may apply:

a) Not for profit local organisations and community groups based in the Deal Town Council area or with beneficiaries exclusively or predominantly in the Deal Town Council area.

b) Registered charities based in the Deal Town Council area or with beneficiaries exclusively or predominantly in the Deal Town Council area.

c) A group/organisation serving an area smaller than the town.

d) Organisations serving all residents or a group who share a particular characteristic.

NB Activity must be available to all residents, or all residents who share a particular characteristic.

2. GRANT AWARD

Grants may be awarded up to £5000. Grant may be used for core costs or project costs.

3. GRANT PERIOD

Grants may cover a maximum of two years. Multi-year grants will be paid in tranches. Activity longer than one year will be subject to interim monitoring before remaining grant is paid.

Community Contributions grants must be expended within two years of award.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Use the Community Contributions Application Form.

2. Applications should be received by 5p.m. on Friday 4th September 2020

3. Applications will be considered by the Grants Sub-Committee. Members will score applications according to the score sheets in Appendix 3c.
