Holocaust Memorial Day 2021

“We will continue to do our bit for as long as we can, secure in the knowledge that others will continue to light a candle long after us”.

- Gena Turgel MBE, survivor of the Holocaust (1923-2018)

Due to the Covid-19 Lockdown Restrictions, it is with regret that Deal Town Council will be unable to hold its Annual Commemoration Event. However, the Mayor will be laying flowers on the memorial stone during the day.

There are other ways in which you can have your own personal commemoration at home;

Register to join the National Holocaust Memorial Day Ceremony on 27th January, 7–8pm. Details can be found on their website at www.hmd.org.uk

· Light the Darkness with a candle (if you are able to do so safely) and put it in your window at 8pm on 27 January 2021 .

· Read the full theme vision and find out more about the Holcocaust and genocides at www.hmd.org.uk
