Cycle Friendly Deal Routes

Whether you're here for a day or to stay a bit longer (accommodation information here), young or old, an occasional or regular rider, there's a Cycle Friendly Deal ride for you.

We've created routes that enable riders (and walkers!) to explore our towns by the sea, Deal & Walmer, as well as our quintessentially English rural landscape inland. They are more than just rides, all the routes pass via a myriad of 'points of interest' bringing to life our heritage, history and landscape.

Below are some of the rides we have developed along with brief descriptions. Click on the ride name for more information.

 Route  Distance Type  Description
Discover Deal    10km   Circular A flat ride through Deal & Walmer with lots of interesting places to stop along the way. Can easily be shortened if necessary.

Pier to Parlour

13km  Circular Starting on the coast this ride rises up into the farm lands. The Parlour in the title is Solley's Ice Cream Parlour in Ripple. Then the route skirts around Deal back down to the coast.

Skylark Loop     27km  Circular  Starting at Deal and then picking up the Skylark Trail in Walmer heading through rural villages towards Dover Castle and then back up along the coast to Deal.
Pier to Pit   32km or 34km Circular  Two Pier to Pit routes, both undulating, one on road and the other including off road sections on bridleways, exploring our mining heritage.
