Grants Deadline Approaching

Published: 14 December 2021

Local groups have until Tuesday 4 January to submit grant applications

Deal Town Council awards grants to local charities, organisations and groups that benefit the residents of Deal and contribute towards making a thriving Town in which we live & work.

At the moment, there are two grant streams open for applications. The first, the Annual Grant scheme, has two categories, Small Grants up to £500, and Large Grants up to £1,000. The second, the Special Projects Fund is a themed grant stream which, for 2021-22, is ‘Supporting the Vulnerable’. Groups can make applications up to £2,000. This fund is also open to organisations who have been hit by extra, or unexpected costs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far in 2021 Deal Town Council has awarded grants to a diverse range of organisations for a varying array of activities including:

  • Deal & Walmer Allotment Association for increasing rainwater harvesting
  • Deal Museum for conservation treatment costs
  • Golf Road Centre for After School Dinner & Homework Club
  • Leaps & Bounds for a greenhouse
  • Invicta Martial Arts for trophies
  • Hi Kent for lip reading classes and
  • Cinque Port Football Club for improving facilities
Cllr Susan Carlyle, Chair of the Grants Sub-Committee said, “It has been an extraordinary two years. Everyone has been impacted by the pandemic and our community groups have been there to support us all in so many different ways. As a Town Council we don’t have access to large funds that we can offer as grants, but we hope that what we can award will help our local groups to continue to support our community.”

To apply, groups should visit the Grant Information page where they will find more information and application forms.

Applications must be received at Deal Town Hall by 5pm on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
