Climate Action Day returns to the Town Hall on
Saturday 15 November and it’s free to attend.
The annual event is hosted by Deal Town Council to coincide with COP (Conference of the Parties - UN Climate Change Conference) and this year the focus is Deal’s proximity and relationship with the sea.
Local groups with a special interest in the health of our sea have been invited to exhibit and they will share their work and explain how people can learn more and can get involved.
Mayor of Deal, Cllr Mike Eddy said: “Learning about our environment and sharing how we can take an active role to improve it is a great opportunity.
“The decline in our bathing water quality led Deal Town Council to introduce an Ocean and Coastal Recovery Strategy and we will be sharing that work on the day.
“In bringing that work together, we spoke to many local groups all with different concerns and interactions with our coastline and they all shared an ambition to make the water consistently safe, clean and healthy again.
“That commitment to change is alive and well in the town and I’d urge you to come and see that work in action at Deal Town Hall on Climate Action Day.”
Climate Action Day is on Saturday 15 November at Deal Town Hall from 10am to 2pm and is free to attend. Go to
