Deal Town Council has made the decision not to hold the Braderie in 2021.

At the meeting of the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting on 23rd March. Councillors resolved with regret, not to hold the Annual Braderie in September 2021.

The Council understands that this decision will be disappointing for many people, but considers its responsibility to public safety as paramount.

Although the Government has set out a roadmap for lifting restrictions due to Covid-19, it is not known at present whether there will still be social distancing measures in place, which would be impossible to manage on the narrow High Street.

The Braderie is Deal's annual street fair selling a vast array of things including antiques, bric-a-brac, vintage clothing, jewellery, plants, books, memorabilia and crafts. For one Sunday in September hundreds of stalls take over the heart of Deal.
