Stay Safe Shop Local and a Saturday Market on a Friday

THe Mayor in Deal High Street next to Covid signWhat better place to do your last-minute Christmas shopping than in Deal? A High Street full of great independent retailers, cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, the lights, the sounds and the free parking.

On Christmas Eve, adding to the Christmas shopping offering will be a special Deal Saturday Market. There will be 38 stalls, all your regular favourites plus seven new traders especially for Christmas Eve. Getting everybody in the festive spirit will be the Landmark Show Choir singing Christmas favourites.

Free parking will be available in Dover District Council’s car parks in Deal from Thursday 23rd December through to Tuesday 28th December and over New Year.

Deal Town Council wants everyone to stay safe. New Covid-19 signs are out along the High Street. The Omicron variant is so virulent, the Town Council has gone back to the “Hands, Face, Space” message. Please always wear a mask in the shops and give each other space. This will protect you and the hard-working staff. Cllr Chris Turner, the Mayor of Deal said, “we were concerned about Covid and the onset of winter, so back at our Full Council meeting at the end of October we decided to fund more information resources. The message is simple, but important.”

So whilst the days may be grey and short, Deal High Street will be glowing and of course thanks to the Deal & Walmer Chamber of Trade, there will be lights twinkling overhead.
