In the afternoon, there is a free Community Family Forage with local forager Lucia Stuart. It is from 2pm-4pm at the small car park opposite the junction of Grams Road and Liverpool Road in Walmer. You can book your place online here.

On Monday Deal Town Council is releasing ‘Just Take Five’ a short film exploring how five simple steps can make your daily life greener.

You can see the film from Monday on our Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/dealtowncouncil.

On Saturday the 1 October, East Kent Climate Action’s Big Green Market Stall will be at Deal Market. Visitors will be able to use their refill service and there will also be an installation of elements that impact our world.

Environment Committee Vice Chair, Cllr Sue Beer, said: "The Great Big Green Week in Deal is a chance to get hands on and see what is happening in our local area.

“The beach clean shows you how we’re impacting our coastline and the team show you what can be achieved when we all pull together.

“If you’re inspired to do something in Deal to help the environment, we are offering green grants of up to £500 to groups, businesses and organisations from Saturday 1 October so please do apply.”
