Community Grants to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III
Published: 20 March 2023
Deal Town Council has launched a new grant scheme to help celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
The funding is open to residents looking to host street parties, as well as charities, local organisations and businesses hoping to hold community events.
A total of £2,000 has been set aside and bids of up to £100 per application will be considered.
Worshipful Town Mayor of Deal, Cllr Chris Turner, said: “The Coronation of King Charles III will be an occasion for us all to enjoy and as a council we wanted to help make that event even more memorable for the people of Deal.
“We are all very aware of the cost of living crisis so it seems more fitting to share funds with people across the town rather than hosting an event at the Town Hall.
“The Coronation is an historic occasion for us all to share and I hope those who are successful in their bids have a wonderful day that they will talk about for many years to come.”
The deadline for applications is
Friday 24 March and for more information, including how to apply, please go to
