We’ve got e-bikes, you can ride them if you like!

Deal Town Council’s e-bike hiring scheme has a new home on the seafront.

The fleet of bikes are now housed at Hut 55 and can be hired out for a full day’s ride or for half a day.

It is part of the Cycle Friendly Deal project, launched in 2018, which has seen additional facilities, maps and help for cyclists to get out and about, in and around the town.

Chairperson of the Environment Committee, Cllr Sue Beer said: “We hope the e-bikes will give people a chance to experience the joy of riding, or perhaps for people to rediscover that enjoyment again.

“Not only will it get us all a little bit fitter, we’ll be able to explore much more of our beautiful town and we’ll be cutting our carbon footprint too.

“It’s ideal here in Deal with many scenic routes which are all relatively flat. So it’s more adventure than endurance!

“Hut 55 are the perfect partners and it is a perfect place for the e-bikes too.”

Hut 55 owner, Kate Forman said: "Hut 55 is excited to partner with Deal Town Council and offer these brilliant e-bikes to the local community and visitors alike, as they provide a fun and accessible way to explore even more of our beautiful coastline."
