It’s a big green rollover!

Green grants are once again available for local projects in a need of a cash boost that will benefit the environment.

Deal Town Council has rolled over the budget from last year, opening up more than £3,000 of funding.

Last year’s projects included the Deal Repair Cafe, new LED lighting for the Kent Museum of the Moving Image, garden improvements at two primary schools and a scheme by Deal With it to enhance nature at Deal Station.

Environment Committee Chairperson Cllr Sue Beer said: “We were delighted with the uptake on last year’s Green Grants and so it’s great we are able to offer further funding this year, for small local projects which will make a big difference.

“If you have a project in mind that takes climate action or enhances the natural environment, please do get in touch and apply for funding.”

There will be two waves of funding, the first closing at the end of October, the second at the end of February 2024. All the information, including how to apply, can be found here www.deal.gov.uk/grants.
