“We are stronger in our diversity than we are in any kind of dislike”

Opening the day of celebration, the Mayor, Cllr Mike Eddy, said: “We’re here today celebrating at Pride and look at the colour!

“I don’t do colour but you do!

“The key thing is that we’re all here celebrating our diversity, whether we’re colourful or not colourful

“So get out there, have fun, enjoy being who you are and enjoy being with people and who they are - because we are all diverse.

“We know we are stronger in our diversity than we are in any kind of dislike.

“So please, make sure you have fun today, celebrate diversity – Happy Pride”

Deal Town Council joined many organisations including Kent Police, Kent Fire & Rescue Service and teams from the NHS at the annual event.

The team gave away free tote bags, promoting the new anti-litter campaign ‘Look After What You Love’ and asked people to sign up for a free hedgehog friendly gravel board.
