Calling all hobbyists!

Do you run a group in Deal that brings people together who share a particular pastime?

Have you got a hobby you’d love to share?

If so, Deal Town Council would like to hear from you.

As part of this winter’s Deal Warm Welcome, there will be a week of events at the Town Hall in January including a special ‘Hobby Day’.

On Saturday 17 January 2026 the Town Hall will play host to local groups who can share their specialism, to encourage people to join them and find a new interest in the new year.

Mayor of Deal Cllr Mike Eddy said: “Deal Warm Welcome returns for a fourth winter and we will again be offering places of warmth and friendship across the town.

“This year we wanted to give something extra and so we’re working with the social prescribing team to offer a week of events and activities that will benefit residents.

“On the Saturday of that week, the 17 January, we want to showcase all the possible pastimes people could sign up to and find that common interest or hobby they don’t yet know they’d like to take up.

“From crochet to cricket and philately to film making and everything in between, if your group has an interest to share with others, we'd like you to join us on Hobby Day.”

The Hobby Day will be held at the Town Hall from 10am to 2pm and will be free to attend.
