International Women’s Day 2026 at Deal Town

Published: 19 February 2026

Deal Town Council will once again host a reception at Deal Town Hall for women to gather, network and enjoy good company and celebrate International Women’s Day.

This year’s theme is Give To Gain, encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

The event will be held on Friday 6 March from 7pm to 8.30pm and guests are encouraged to donate gifts of either period products or hygiene products to help local people struggling with period poverty.

No one who menstruates should miss school or work through period poverty.

Deal Town Council Clerk, Lorna Crow said: “The generosity shown at our recent International Women’s Day events really endorses the key 2026 Give To Gain campaign.

“We open up the Town Hall to celebrate the day, providing a safe space to meet, network and support others in Deal.

“It is an annual event we are very proud to host and hope you can join us for a great evening and to help tackle period poverty too.”

Period and hygiene product gifts are distributed among local groups including the Deal Area Foodbank & Pantry. Business and Marketing Manager, Heather Aldred, said: “By donating an item or two on International Women’s Day 2026, you are providing vital help to those that really need it.

“We are so grateful to our fantastic community for their generous donations to Deal Area Foodbank & Pantry. Without the continual support we receive from them we would be unable to help the thousands of people each year we help in our local community.

“We are so grateful for your support. Thank You!”

The reception will include drinks and nibbles and is over 18s only. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance due to limited capacity. To book your place contact Joanne.Harper@deal.gov.uk or call 07887 491569 and download the poster here.
