Annual Town Meeting 2026 – Your meeting, your voice

Published: 21 April 2026

The Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday 28 April from 7.15pm at Deal Town Hall and all are welcome.

It is an open forum for residents to discuss matters relating to Deal and learn more about the council and its services.

Guest speaker Dr Razia Shariff, CEO of Kent Refugee Action Network, will talk about community cohesion and there will also be a presentation from Southern Water to discuss bathing water quality and works that have been carried out locally.

In the last financial year almost £19,000 was awarded by Deal Town Council to local groups and organsiations who work to make life better, host events and bring communities closer together. We will be hearing from some of the grant recipients who will share how the funding has helped and supported them.

There will also be a short video presentation, highlighting the work undertaken by Deal Town Council during the last year.

Mayor of Deal Cllr Mike Eddy said: “The Annual Town Meeting is always well attended and is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the council and how we serve the people of Deal.

“It’s not a council meeting, it’s a residents’ meeting, so I’d urge you to get involved, email us a question and I hope to see you there.”

Questions need to be submitted by Thursday 23 April to allow for a comprehensive response to be given at the meeting, where necessary. More details about the evening including the agenda and how to send in a query can be found here at www.deal.gov.uk.

Space is limited to 60 people and early attendance is recommended. For more information about the event, please contact joanne.harper@deal.gov.uk or call 01304 361999.
