Celebrating our 327th birthday!

Published: 15 October 2026

We’re celebrating our 327th birthday at Deal Saturday Market by giving away free tote bags.

On 13 October 1699 King William III signed a Charter that released Deal from the rule of the Port of Sandwich, allowing us to become a market town in our own right.

To mark Charter Day on Saturday 17 October there will be 300 free ‘Charter Day 2026’ tote bags that will be given away.

The market will be open from 8am to 2pm and the bags will be handed out by stall holders to their customers on a first come, first served basis.
