A charity supporting stroke survivors, their carers and families in Deal, Walmer and the surrounding area. Stroke Survivors hope that you are staying safe and well.

Come along to meetings – the first Friday of the month at 2.00pm at the Golf Road Centre

Stroke Survivors realise that suffering a stroke is a great shock to the survivor, their family and friends. Recovery and learning to live with the effects can take a long time and frequently involves a great deal of adjustment. Each case is unique and there is no simple route back to how life was.

Isolation is frequently a problem for stroke survivors who find it difficult to get out and make friends. Stroke Survivors provide a safe, friendly environment where they can meet other survivors, their carers and our volunteers and start to join in social activities.
Stroke Survivors Deal District hold monthly meetings with speakers, games and activities. There is also time for a cup of tea/coffee and an opportunity to chat. The meetings provide stroke survivors and their carers with an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy the company of fellow members. The meetings are 2pm – 4pm on the first Friday of every month, at the North Deal Centre on Golf Road. We look forward to seeing you soon.

They also meet every week for our Deal pier walk – a bit of a walk along the pier, a chat and a nice hot cuppa. It’s great if you want to walk, and the distance you walk is up to you. Some people walk just a little bit, others walk further, some just come for the cuppa and the chat! It would be great to see you if you are able to come along. Meet at Deal pier entrance, 10:45 for 11am on Thursdays.

Throughout the year there are a range of activities, including outings to local attractions and restaurants: https://www.dealdistrictstrokes.org/activities/
