Free e-bikes for local charities

Published: 10 June 2026

a red ebikeDeal Town Council has six e-bikes that are available for transfer of ownership to local charitable organisations.

In 2020, as part of the Cycle Friendly Deal, a small fleet of electric bicycles was purchased so people could enjoy cycling, explore the local area and discover an alternative to driving.

As part of the council’s climate action work, we encourage and promote cycling and safe cycling routes around the town for health as well as the positive environmental benefits.

Mayor of Deal, Cllr Mike Eddy said: “We are keen that our e-bikes continue to provide enjoyment and give people the chance to get active as well as being environmentally friendly too.

“If you are a local charitable group that would benefit from your team going green, we’d encourage you to fill out the form and apply.”

To apply, please download the form here - the closing date for applications is Monday 14 July 2026 at 5.00pm and the applications will be considered by the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
